For Shakespeare's A Midsummer Nights's Dream, the students had choice in their final project. Students could either compose a newspaper article and report the events of the play, create a comic book reproducing a scene from the play, write a song about the play and perform the original piece, create sketches of clothes to fit the characters of the play and unveil a fashion show, or recite a monologue from one of Shakespeare's plays.
Chloe A. and Molly M. were assigned the Direct Reading Thinking Activity strategy and how it was applicable to comprehending Orwell's Animal Farm. When looking at the vocabulary used in the novel and applying it to the story and beyond, the girls created this original, creative, and insightful rap. Check it out.
After reading Orwell's Animal Farm, Kaitlyn O.B, Leah B, and Maggie O.B presented a lesson on character traits and how they are necessary in order to fully comprehend and understand the characters' motives.
